Hello!
I’m a writer of books for children and an avid hobby doodler.
I was born in Seoul, Korea, and grew up in Toronto, Canada.
Growing up I was not an avid reader or writer, although I did both, very slowly and steadily. Eventually my love of writing caught fire, and although I’ve done all kinds of writing, it was writing stories for kids that made me feel like my words had found their true home.
I am currently the author of two picture books: Waiting for Tomorrow (FSG for Young Readers), illustrated by Julie Kwon, and Gwendolyn and the Light (Abrams Books for Young Readers), illustrated by Audrey Helen Weber. I also write personal essays, which have appeared in The Globe and Mail and The New York Times.
